How  do I place an order for Plants?

All orders are processed "first come, first served".  If we run out of inventory of the plant you ordered, the order is canceled, and no back order is created.

The online Wish Book allows you to browse and select your plants in a modern web shopping cart environment, but we do not accept payment online.  When you are ready to place your shooping cart order, follow the instructions at the end of the selection process to fax your order to us.

In some cases, we may post special "Wish Letters" online in addition to the Wish Book.  The Wish Letters include unique individual, and very small run plants that are special in some way.  Weather they are especially hard to find, or especially good specimens, the Wish List plants allways sell out quickly.  The wish lists include a faxable order form.

Most Plants are Shipped "Bare Root"

Most plants shipped by Grigsby Cactus Garden are shipped "Bare Root", which means without growth medium.  No soil, or planting pot is included.

Plants shipped in pots are too often damaged or destroyed during shipping, and the growth medium that you use to pot your plant should reflect the environment in which it will be grown.  For more information and advise on the topic of soil selection, see this artcle.


     The states of Florida and Louisiana require that we provide a Brown Snail Inspection Certificate for each order we ship to their states. These certificates prove the order has been inspected and found free of brown snails. Please include $30.00 per order for the cost of obtaining the Brown Snail Inspection Certificate required by your state.

TERMS:  Payment with order. Minimum order is $25.00 plus shipping charges and $5.00 handling charge. California residents add 8% sales tax (subject to change). Prices may change without notice. You may pay by MasterCard, Visa or Discover.

CREDIT CARD NUMBER UPDATE:  Our bank is requiring the 3 digit security number that follows your account number on the back of your credit card to be used in the authorization process. This is a FRAUD PREVENTION measure and for your safety should not be ignored. Please use your complete account number when you place your order by phone, fax or mail.


SHIPPING is by USPS Priority Mail (Air) only.
25% of the plant total ($15.00 minimum)
Due to Christmas mail delays, we do not ship after December 15th through January 3rd.  During cold weather (approximately November through February) we ship at your risk only.

Shipping carriers have not only raised their charges but are now charging by box size rather than weight only (called dimensional weight). We do our best to avoid this happening, however, we will adjust your shipping charges if the box weight does not meet the minimum charged by the carrier.

If you receive an unsatisfactory plant call or return it within 10 days of receipt for replacement, refund or credit as you desire. We cannot fix a problem if you do not tell us about it. Winter shipments are at your risk. We cannot be responsible for losses during the cold weather.
